The Clinical Significance of Both IgM and IgG Anticardiolipin Antibodies in Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma

چکیده
Background: Anticardiolipin (ACL) antibodies are associated with a wide variety of disorders including malignancies. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence and prognostic implication of ACL antibodies in patients with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Methods: Sixty-four patients with NHL were included in this study. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits were used to measure the concentrations of all IgM and IgG antibodies. Results: Antibodies (IgM, IgG) were found in 35.9% and 84.3% of patients respectively. The presence of elevated aCl IgM was correlated with relapse in NHL (P<0.001). Pretreatment serum levels of aCL IgG were significantly higher in patients with NHL (P<0.001), and significantly normalized in complete remission. Positive ACL IgG was also found in patients with relapse. A negative correlation was found between aCL antibodies (IgM, IgG) positivity and CD23 (P=0.037, P=0.003) respectively. Conclusion: Anticardiolipin antibodies are associated with lymphomas. Their determination is useful to predict treatment outcome or disease prognosis.

Comparison of Antiphospholipid Antibodies between Preeclamptsia and Normal Pregnant Women
Antiphospholipid antibodies (APLA) may be detected in normal pregnancies and also may cause thrombosis, recurrent fetal loss, placental infarction and preeclampsia. In the present study the possible differences in APLA titer between healthy pregnant women and preeclampsia cases without history of thrombosis was examined. The APLA titer in 50 healthy pregnant women with 50 preeclampsia cases wit...
متن کاملAntiphospholipid antibodies in Brazilian hepatitis C virus carriers.
Hepatitis C, a worldwide viral infection, is an important health problem in Brazil. The virus causes chronic infection, provoking B lymphocyte dysfunction, as represented by cryoglobulinemia, non-organ-specific autoantibody production, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The aim of this research was to screen for the presence of antiphospholipid autoantibodies in 109 Brazilian hepatitis C virus carrier...
متن کاملAnticardiolipin Antibodies in Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Background: Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) can either occur as a primary syndrome or associated with other autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Anticardiolipin antibody (aCL) of IgG and/or IgM isotype in blood, measured by a standardized ELISA is the most acceptable laboratory criteria. APS IgG isotype, particularly IgG2 subclass is more strongly associated ...
متن کامل[Clinical significance of antiphospholipid antibody measured by EliA anticardiolipin antibodies and anti-β2Glycoprotein I antibodies in antiphospholipid syndrome].
Anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL-IgG/IgM) and anti-β2-glycoprotein I antibodies (aβ2GPI-IgG/IgM) are laboratory tests included in the current classification criteria for definite antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). However, not all of these assays have been commercially available in Japan. We investigated the efficacy of aCL-IgG/IgM and aβ2GPI-IgG/IgM assays using fluorescence enzyme immunoassay (P...
متن کاملIncidence of anticardiolipin antibodies and lupus anticoagulant factor among women experiencing unexplained recurrent abortion and intrauterine fetal death.
The aim of this research study was to estimate anticardiolipin (IgG & IgM) antibodies (aCL) and lupus anticoagulant (LA) factor in patients of recurrent unexplained pregnancy loss and intrauterine fetal deaths (IUFD). 82 women were selected for this study by virtue of having more than two consecutive unexplained pregnancy losses in their first trimester and were referred by the department of Ob...
